Southern Africa
Zambia
The home of the walking safari — wild, low-key and guide-led, with some of the best big-cat country on the continent.

Zambia is for the safari-curious who want to walk. South Luangwa is where the guided walking safari was born, and the guiding culture here is among the finest anywhere — quiet, knowledgeable, on foot. It’s wilder and less polished than Botswana or South Africa, which is precisely the point. Tag on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and you’ve got drama at both ends.
